Published on YouTube: The FRAME of a MAN: A Reflection on Life’s Transience
A powerful and sobering thought—the frame of a man is but a few days. Life is fleeting, and our days are numbered like the morning mist that vanishes with the sun. Yet, in that brevity, we are called to seek what is eternal.
The Frame of a Man (A Poem by Bessie Nova)
The frame of a man is but a whisper in the wind,
A breath drawn in the morning and gone by eventide.
We build, we run, we strive—but the hands of time do not slow,
And the weight of our days is lighter than dust on the scales.
We rise like the grass, green in the dawn,
Only to wither beneath the noonday sun.
Kings and beggars, mighty and meek—
All return to the same dust, all are leveled by the grave.
Yet, O soul, do not despair in the brevity of life!
For though the days of man are a fleeting sigh,
There is One who is from everlasting to everlasting,
A refuge for the weary, a fortress for the failing.
Set your eyes upon the Ancient of Days,
The One who spoke the stars into place,
The hands that formed you from dust
Are the hands that call you into glory.
The frame of a man is but a few days—
But the soul that trusts in the Lord shall stand forever.
